What is your role at Brunsdon Financial?
I’m Managing Director of the business.
How did you come to your role?
I had been working for Brunsdon Financial for some time before being promoted to the role of Sales Manager. Shortly afterwards, I was offered a shareholding and then became Managing Director. That makes it sound really easy, but I worked incredibly hard and took on tasks no one else wanted to do.
What do you like most about your role?
The people I work with and our great clients. The clients trust us either with their personal life savings or the welfare of their staff. It’s very satisfying.
If you could wave a magic wand to achieve anything you wanted at work, what would it be?
To hit our medium to long term goals now and share the success with our staff.
What advice would you give someone starting out in business now?
Work hard, work harder than your peers, do not be frightened to take calculated risks.
What’s the best piece of business-related advice you were ever given?
The harder you work the luckier you will get.
If you could, what would you tell your 21-year old self?
Stick to your beliefs and take chances. Also, be patient, it’s going to be a long time before Liverpool win the League again!
Who are your business heroes?
Anyone who uses their success to help others.
Outside of work, what do you like to do?
Spend time with my family, watch football or play golf, also watching Gloucester Rugby and going on holiday.
How would you like to be remembered, a) by your friends and family and b) by your Brunsdon Financial clients
By my friends and family, I’d like to be remembered as being a great dad, for being honest and fun to be with, supportive and innovative.
By my Brunsdon Financial clients, as someone who’s always reliable, honest and understanding of their changing needs.
