Employee Spotlight – Meet Lennie Quainton

Employee Spotlight – Meet Lennie Quainton

What is your role at Brunsdon Financial?

I’m a Senior Chartered Financial Adviser.

How did you come to your role?

I joined Brunsdon following six years at HSBC, where I also worked as a Financial Adviser. I’d heard about the great working environment at Brunsdon from a former colleague and thought it sounded like the right move for me and my career, which it absolutely was.

What do you like most about your role?

I love the fact that I get to talk to so many different people and help them achieve theirs and their families’ dreams. It could be anything from reaching their retirement goal to helping their children get on the property ladder; it’s always a great feeling.

If you could wave a magic wand to achieve anything you wanted at work, what would it be?

I’d like to simplify some of the rules and regulations surrounding financial services to make it more accessible to the everyday person.

What advice would you give someone starting out in business now?

Always treat others as you would want to be treated. I believe this is such an important but undervalued piece of advice and it works across all areas of life, not just business.

What’s the best piece of business-related advice you were ever given?

Never be a mood hoover. Also, try to inspire and encourage those around you in all that you do, no matter how big, small or tedious the task that needs to be carried out. I like to keep this in mind at work and at home.

If you could, what would you tell your 21-year-old self?

To smile more, especially on Monday mornings (they’re not so bad).

Who are your business heroes?

I don’t have business heroes as such but I admire those who look to go the extra mile to help and enhance the lives of those around them, whether that be for their colleagues, clients or in the community.

Outside of work, what do you like to do?

I love being a family man and spending time with my wife and kids. Sports and the great outdoors are also real passions of mine. Both are great for physical and mental wellbeing. You can’t beat getting out into nature.

How would you like to be remembered, a) by your friends and family and b) by your Brunsdon Financial clients?

I’d like to be remembered by my friends and family as fun and reliable. I hope that my clients remember me as friendly, approachable and knowledgeable.
