‘Fresh’ from her Barcelona ‘IRONMAN’ challenge in October, in which she completed the gruelling 2.4 mile swim, 112 mile cycle ride and 26.2 mile marathon in 12 hours, 32 minutes, Brunsdon Financial Adviser Lisa Morman is off again!
Never one to let the grass grow under her feet, Lisa, together with a small team, is taking on the arguably even more daunting ‘RUN FOR LOVE’ challenge in The Azores next week.
This, the world’s toughest island race, is a charity event on behalf of the TRIBE Freedom Foundation, dedicated to raising more than £250,000 to support victims of modern slavery and human trafficking.
Lisa says, “During the event, we’ll be running over 250 km in just 6 days – on one day alone we have to do over 80 km, starting out at 3 am with head torches! In the process we’ll be climbing the equivalent of one and a half times the height of Mount Everest! And we’ll be ‘wild camping’ whilst out on the run.”
Lisa is self-funding her entry to the tune of £1,000, but is looking for money of course for the cause.
She says, “If anyone is able to help with donations, that would be amazing. It’s a terrific cause and would certainly help to spur us on.”
Brunsdon’s Heartfelt Charitable Foundation has weighed in with £500 sponsorship.
