Employee Spotlight – Meet Lisa Morman

Every month we like to shine a spotlight on a different Brunsdon Financial team member. This month, we’re having a chat with Lisa Morman, who gives us an insight into how she became a chartered financial advisor and why her business hero is her Dad!

What is your role at Brunsdon Financial?

I am a Chartered Financial Adviser.

How did you come to your role?

Well.. my dad has worked at Brunsdon all my life!

Straight out of school I went to university and studied in Nutrition and Dietetics, but I ended up moving back to Gloucester just as a role came up within Brunsdon. I joined and really enjoyed the role! I then went on to take my exams and qualified to be a financial adviser.

After 4 years at Brunsdon, I moved to London to work as a paraplanner for a different firm and subsequently moved to a retirement planning specialist firm.

I rejoined Brunsdon Financial in December 2018 as a chartered financial adviser.

What do you like most about your role?

I like helping people and making a difference! Money can be a very daunting subject and one that most people wouldn’t even discuss with their friends. So, I feel very privileged that my clients trust me with the information they share with me.

If you could wave a magic wand to achieve anything you wanted at work, what would it be?

Create a teleportation device to allow me to pop up at a client’s house and then back to the office (although video calls are halfway there.. they aren’t quite the same!).

What advice would you give someone starting out in business now?

Keep learning and asking questions! You don’t know what you don’t know and there are always valuable lessons you can pick up from someone who has experienced something before.

Who are your business heroes?

Is it sad to say, my dad? It is great to see someone who loves their job and never really wants to stop! He always puts the clients first and is a great role model in life as well as work.

Outside of work, what do you like to do?

Yoga, running, triathlon, friends, festivals.

How would you like to be remembered, a) by your friends and family and b) by your Brunsdon Financial colleagues?

As a person that lived in the moment and enjoyed life and all, it has to offer.

By my clients – as the person that looked after their money/ took away money concerns so they could pursue the passions in their life.
