Employee Spotlight – Meet Daniel Revell

Employee Spotlight - Meet Daniel Revell

Every month we will be featuring a different Brunsdon Financial team member. This month it’s the turn of Daniel Revell, Mortgage Adviser.

What is your role at Brunsdon Financial?

I’m a Mortgage Adviser within the newly set up B Mortgage Services business.

How did you come to your role?

After a career in the insurance sector as a commercial insurance broker, I moved into the mortgage industry to take over our family’s mortgage business. Following my parents’ retirement, I took the exciting opportunity to join Brunsdon Financial and help launch B Mortgage Services.

What do you like most about your role?

Helping people fulfil their dream of owning their own home and gaining satisfaction from getting them the best possible mortgage for their needs.

If you could wave a magic wand to achieve anything you wanted at work, what would it be?

To make B Mortgages a roaring success and build it up to be a market-leading mortgage brokerage.

What advice would you give someone starting out in business now?

Work hard and be approachable. It’s important to be open to new ideas and never to think it’s your way or the highway.

What’s the best piece of business-related advice you were ever given?

That a great client meeting is determined by you doing the listening and the client doing the talking. You’re then able to pull out their needs from the conversation and are in the best position to advise them. A successful meeting is one where the client has been more vocal than you.

If you could, what would you tell your 21-year-old self?

Make sure you strike a good work-life balance and always try to look on the positive side of everything.

Who are your business heroes?

Anyone who can innovate and change with the times. I admire those who constantly look forward, see opportunities and embody that entrepreneurial spirit: Bill Gates, Jeff Bezos, Steve Jobs, Ariana Huffington, Peter Jones to name a few.

Outside of work, what do you like to do?

I’m a keen golfer and a huge Liverpool Football Club fan (last year was a proud moment for us!). I love spending time with my wife and my daughter, and I also enjoy baking the odd cake.

How would you like to be remembered, a) by your friends and family and b) by your Brunsdon Financial clients?

By my friends and family as someone who would always be there to help out in their time of need, as well as being a laugh to be around. By my Brunsdon Financial clients, professional, knowledgeable and approachable, and always available to answer their queries.

Your home may be repossessed if you do not keep up repayments on your mortgage.
